picking up my first snow flake eel tomorrow any tips or anything that I need to know

They’re actually not bad in a community tank so long as you feed properly. Advice I got was to feed only every three days but I think I averaged every other day. A couple of thawed krill at a time was fine. I ended up pulling mine out of my reef tank because I couldn’t get my nutrients under control with him in the tank.

Oh yeah, buy a feeding stick, don’t try to hand feed him! [emoji41]

Please do not feed only shrimp and krill. Search and read about vitamin b problems in eels that are not fed a varied diet.

How big of a tank do they require?

For a specimen tank, somwhsome in the range of a standard 55- standard 75 should be enough room.

They are an eel, so that means a lot of body mass and a lot of mess when grown. You may have to take some steps to make sure n&p don't get out of hand.

They could potentially eat smaller crustaceans.
