Is there anyway a 28~ inch snowflake eel could eat a 9in panther grouper? I'm guessing no, but I'm debating someone right now. Just looking for opinions

Eels will sometimes attack newly added fish, but usually are pretty safe. Also, although snake-like in appearance, an eels digestive tract is nowhere as long as that of a snake. The groupwr should be completely safe.

See, that's what I thought. No way is a snowflake eating a fish that big!

It probably can't eat it but yes it could do some serious damage if the eel attacked the grouper. That's the only scenario I can see.

Well for a 28" I dont think it cant handle the grouper.
the panther is so slow at night and the eel can take a chance.

But snowflakes are more of a specialised crustacean hunter than piscivore. If it is going to try, it would be when the grouper is first added. But still pretty unlikely.

Also, even though 28", it's only the first couple of inches that are mouth and digestive tract, the rest is essentially modified tail.

on a side note, can u post a vid of ur tank :)
Me? Lol it's nothing special. I have a FTS for you though.
