I got a new snowflake eel last weekend, been in QT for 5 days. It is about 10" or so, and very active and alert. However, has not eaten yet.
When I squirt some of the food water into the tank, it immediately comes out and moves around, sticks head out etc. I have been trying to feed LRS Chunky food, which seems to get great reviews for eels. Have tried pieces of shrimp, clams, etc. Have tried them on the end of a wooden skewer as well as with some tongs. Eel will move toward the food some, but seems to avoid it. I also tried it on a small piece of fishing line in the flow with no luck.
Should I leave a chunk in there for him to find on his own? Or just stick to the course and keep trying? Any other ideas or suggestion?
Thanks!
