hi all,

This isn’t an emergency per se but I didn’t know where else to post for help. I have a small snowflake eel who I got this weekend, and the past two days I have found him in my sump. I have a built in corner overflow and my guess is he slips through the slits at night.

Any ideas on how to keep the little bugger in there? While I have gotten better at capturing the escape artist, I am worried it is only a matter of time before it doesn’t go smoothly and I end up with blended eel.

Thanks for your help, please let me know if any pictures will help.

I have found they like to go up and over (if the overflow has an open top).

Do you have a full top on? I did and mine escaped through a sliver of an opening where I had an opening for cables. He was unfortunately found intertwined in the electrical cables..

Pictures of the tank top will help for sure.

That was my second guess other than fitting through the slits. I took a picture of the overflow, but did not take a picture of the top. I think you are right about it slipping through the crack at the top of the overflow. Any ideas on how to block it or help to solve this problem?
