Snowflake Eel Minimum Tank Size

I am currently working on getting a 140 Gallon (60x18x30) and just want to make sure a Snowflake Eel (The Main Reason I'm Working On Getting A Saltwater Tank) will happily live its life out in that tank. Please comment below about why you feel a Snowflake Eel needs at least that sized tank.

If you search on liveaquaria it will give you a recommended min size .
Keep in mind they do grow 18”-24” long and that’s the reason I ended up donating mine back to the lfs .
Any small fish added after it was food

don’t let it bite . Hurts pretty bad

What sized tank did you have it in? Thanks for the response, what do you recommend for Tank Size?

I had 2 in a standard 75 gallon tank. They live in a 180 now with a large foxface, some butterfly fish and 2 dwarf angels.
Any tank 4 feet or more is good for a snowflake. Mine are mostly grown too.

Make sure the lid is tight. I found one of mine on the floor once but got him back in the tank in time.

I believe a 90 is a 4’x2’x2’ tank. I could be wrong though, but I’ve never heard of a tank that was 5’x18”x30”. Personally I would go for a 5’x2’x18” as the snowflake eel will then have Atleast some space to move its whole body in. That’s my personal rule with large fish (1.5’+) is if they have room to turn and not bump into other fish then it’s most likely that the tank size is good.
With fish like sharks, pufferfish, eels, lionfish ect… they’re all messy eaters so personally I’d try to get more water to not have the parameters swing during/after feedings.

No, I think that's a 120. The only reason I know that is my local Petco has a 4x2x2 120 where it keeps bigger fish. Yeah I know, it's a strange size but I can't go wider than 18" but I though I could make up for that's little by going higher. So is that a no on a Snowflake Eel, or just to not keep as many fish?
