Hi everyone,

I inherited a snowflake eel. I have had for around 5 days now and I have reached out to the previous owner about what the eel use to eat with him and I have bought the same thing as he previously fed. My snowflake eel still hasn’t ate since I have gotten him. I did read they can go a month without eating and the tend to not eat after moving tanks. Is there a point when I should start to worry? I have tested all my parameters and everything is perfect and right where they need to be. Any suggestions?

My eels have gone months without eating from time to time over 10 years i've had them. Don't worry about it for now. Just keep offering food. How does it's eyes look? clear or cloudy? If clear give it time. Cloudy eyes usually lets you know somethings not right. Whether it be waterquality or something else.
