No fake stuff in a real tank ever... Reefing takes time, more "stuff" in the tank just means more surfaces that will attract detritus, algae and possibly leach god knows what into the water... Just my two cents worth. in over a quarter century ion this hobby, not one thing has ever happened quickly, my current tank is the worst ive ever experience as far as ugly etc... But im chewing through it one day at a time...

If corals were being taken directly from the reef vs mari/aquacultured, then sure. The New England Aquarium just built a huge Red Sea exhibit and it's all fake coral.
