I've been seeing a pretty big increase in people saying they use scrubbers in their tanks now. Is it really worth doing that compared to doing media? I'm willing to switch over if its really as good as the articles from the vendors i've been reading.

Feel free to say your pros and cons, and such :] Thanks!

I have said before many times. I love my UAS and use one in every tank that it will fit in. However, the method you choose to use will work. However, nothing can combat algae completely without good husbandry and active removal.
Pros:
Easy to DIY, cleans easily, cheap, effective, small footprint, natural, pods

Cons:
Airstones get yucky fast, clean it weekly, algae will float around in sump when clean if not careful

That's a great response, thank you! I don't have any nuisance algae besides the light dusting on my glass every few days. But I'd like to feed more and have a more natural approach and in the long run a cheaper one as well.
