So I dipped corals...then...ugh

Okay, just went to my LFS. Pretty upset with them. I guess the guy that did my water test a week ago was new there and read it incorrectly. They did a new test and some of my parameters were off and the tank was not ready for new fish. Feel like the let me drop $150 bucks just to get my money now. Pretty upset. Investing in my own test supplies today. I trust myself.

Sorry to hear about your fish loss, I would recommend learning and using your own test kits including making your own saltwater with a RODI water filter. Introduction of corals do best after a tank is established for 4 months. Even at my LFS, the employees are friendly and helpful to bag the fish or corals I select, but many times their knowledge/experience of reefkeeping is just not there. There is great info here on Reef2Reef. BRS Tv is another good one.

I’d just let them be. Honestly, I doubt it was not rinsing them that killed your fish, but the rinse never hurts.

I agree. What are the corals? It is a small tank, so don't do anything drastic.

You can try doing daily micro water changes. Remove a 16 oz solo cup of water and replace it with a solo cup of new saltwater every day.

Anything I should do with the coral now? Re-dip them and them and then rinse? Or should I just let them be?
You could run charcoal to absorb as much of the potential toxins in the water.

Unless you want those Green Star Polyps taking over your entire rock I'd isolate them on their own rock away from others. I have mine on it's own separate island away from anything else. As everybody has mentioned start testing on your own. I use Salifert for MG, CA, NO3 and Hanna for ALK and PO4.
