So I noticed that 2 of my clown fish have white spots on them. So as far as treatment goes I was thinking 5min FW dip and QT for 6 weeks to give the Ich time to die off in my main display. My main question here is what medicine should I use in my QT? I don’t wanna use copper. My QT is small and it’s super hard to keep the copper at the right leaves. So I wanted to know my other options. And the tank transfer method isn’t an option I only have one QT.
Thanks

Sorry you're having this problem. Are you positive its ich? Maybe post a photo.

Copper is really the best route when dealing with ich and velvet. There is also CP treatment but think copper is the best route for you if you're not comfortable administering medications.

I prefer Cupramine and its fairly easy to maintain levels but make sure you get a solid test kit like the hanna checker.

Get a Hanna Copper Checker and keeping copper levels accurate is much easier.
Takes the guess work out of it.

So I went to go and take a photo but all of the white spots that I seen yesterday morning are now gone. So no photo to be had.
But there has to be option 2, when it comes to treating Ich. I do have Rid Ich Plus. Bought but never used. Anyone know about this stuff?

The Kordon Rid-Ich Plus has 4.26% formaldehyde 11.52% formalin and zinc free chloride salt of malachite.

cp is copper powder
Brooke is
Brooklynella" is an infestation of marine fish by the ciliated protozoan Brooklynella hostilis. It is most closely and commonly associated with subfamily Amphiprioninae (clownfish) members of the Damselfish family, and therefore is typically referred to as clownfish disease.

Well that would explain why my Tang has no white spots on it. So how should I go about treating this Brooke?

sorry, CP=chloroquine phosphate. My mistake.

Brooke is treated with Formalin. But this is past my level of knowledge.

@Aaron88 the spots disappearing sounds like ich. Due to the life cycle of ich, you will see the spots come and go. That is why you will see people post that “I tried this product and the ich went away”.

A picture would help identify what you are dealing with.

Ich will look like specks of salt on the fish.

Velvet presents similar to ich, but the spots are smaller and too numerous to count (more like powered sugar sprinkled over the fish instead of salt).

Brook will look like the skin of the fish is coming off. It can look similar to a bad case of velvet.

I counted no more than 4 to 6 spots on each clown this morning. Son it’s sounding more like Ich? I wish I I’d taken a photo this morning but I was running out the door to get to work.

Yellow tang and a lion fish
Ok so it does sound like ich. And if it is then the rest of your fish have it also even if they dont show the spots. Once ich is in your tank it's there. So removing and treating just the clowns won't work. You will have to remove everyone and treat everyone.

If you dont have corals in you tank then you can just treat in your DT. Most likely when you treat all inverts and most benificial bacteria will suffer and die. Which is the tough part and makes ich such a pain in the butt and why removal and treatment is the recommended method.

Yeah I was gonna remove everyone and treat and qt for 6weeks. Hopefully I have the common Ich and not the 76 day Ich.
