Alright here we go
My name is Paul, I am in fact a Jr, hence the name.
I am 25 years old, ive been married since 8-7-04 (again the name, easy way to remember my anniversary eh?) I have a 3 year old daughter, and 4 month old son. I am the new vice president of my families business, which is a chain of hallmark gift stores that specialize in religious jewelry and gifts. I am the fourth generation to run it, and it has been around since the the early 1930's.
I bought my daughter a goldfish bowl about 2 years ago, and decided that it was ***** boring, and decided then to do a saltwater fish tank.
I had a 30ish gallon bow front tank, with a hang off the back filter, seaclone skimmer...all the usual JUNK many of us had in the beginning.
Shortly there after a local store was doing a liquidation sale and was selling everything for 1-5 dollars. I waited outside until they opened and filled the biggest box i could find with God knows what.
Decided that this "coral" stuff as pretty cool, and then realized i needed to get with the program and get educated.
Since then, I have read every book i could find on corals, cover to cover, read tens of thousands of articles online, threads, and whatever else i could find on growing corals.
I also decided that the pics on RC were just to darn cool to not recreate myself. So i went out and bought a D40...a couple months later a D80...and several months later a D300. This hobby resparked my passion for photography. That too I havent let up on.
For nearly 2 years I have researched anything i could find with very few exceptions.
I have 2 grow out tanks where i decided to collect the finest corals i could find, and grow them out for later display. I felt that this was the logical step, as it has been much more affordable to run "function" tanks to get the corals large enough to look good in a large tank.
I recently ordered a 300 gallon display, and am currently designing the system, and will be building it step by step with all of you, with tons of pics along the way.
I feel that the endless amount of time and effort ive put into this hobby has made me a reliable source of information, and ingenuity. I look forward to helping others, and learning from you as well.
Only a few months ago did i join club-zoa, and like many of you, instantly felt like I was home.
After Rev and I battled to the death in an all out photo war, he asked me to come on as a photo advisor. Shortly there after, i became a moderator.
And that long winded story about wraps it up.
