My Vortech gets fully encrusted in coraline algae every few months. It Literally cakes up and prevents good flow. anyone else having this awful issue? :)

Looks awesome! I haven't got a bit of coraline algae. What are your water parameters?

I thought mine was bad. Those spin streams I have didn't stand a chance. Every other day I have to "unfreeze" them. I gave up on the back wall, you can see some on the glass that didn't get scraped last week or 2. I don't really mind it, I wish I had more than just that purple though.

BI-monthly home depot bucket water changes. Red sea blue bucket
Alk - ranges from 7.5 to 8.5 dkh
Calcium is always around - 450
N03 - near 0
P04 - near 0
Temp 80-82.

I dose B-ionic A+B and that's it. I've Been using the product for over 15 years on Multiple reefs.

Wow.. it looks awesome. The tank itself is gorgous, the ricordia garden, zoas all looks stunning. Love to read through your build thread :-)

Does the coralline impacts the coral growth anyway. I'm curious about its impact on calcium as well.
I think I have seen one particular thread here where the coralline growth was crazy that he had to take down the tank, it was also flaky with monti cap like thickness. I dont think yours is that type. Its prettier :-)
