So much for good pH levels

I just did the co2 concentration formula for my tank with pre opening window days to now, and its about 6X less co2 in the water. Which I assume must mean if our house is ~ natural now, it was in the 2k range.

Was peak 7.9 and 10.4 dkh

Now is 8.4 at peak with 8 DKH

Makes sense, our house is very insulated, and people / animal per square foot is pretty dense in our hovel.

The HVAC in your home moves around the air so you don't have to be in a room for the co2 to move up or down.
Makes sense.

Even in the dead of winter, I'll try to find a minute where the temp is not too far below freezing and open all the windows for a few minutes every week or so. The new air doesn't take long to heat, it's when the entire structure gets cold takes forever to heat back up.

I do think this thing is junk. I turned it on this morning and it was reading in the mid 440s, I thought cool. So now I have it by an open window and it's beeping at me with a reading over 1400.

This time, I got what I paid for.

That is a cheap one. Mine was like $45-50, but appears to be more expensive now. Mine bugged out once and flashed until I turned it off and on, but otherwise has been pretty consistent. I have it on a table in the middle of my basement. Main tank is in the family room down there, so close by.

Once the AC kicks on and mixes up all of the air in the rest of the house that is still high, it will rise. Normal. Open the house up again tomorrow and following days until the co2 stays down. Tank pH takes a while to catch up but you should see something in the AM.

I have found a lot of vebnefit from turning on the air system fan independently of AC or heat for a little bit while windows or open, so I bet this is 100% true

IDK if I'd trust your CO2 meter either. With both sensing CO2, humidity and temp I wonder if they have the same guts. They have similar displays.

I found some CO2 detector chips for less than $50 I wonder how big of a project it'd be to hook it up to a little screen....
