have had it for about 2 years. Everything was working fine until 2 friday's ago. I signed up for aquatic log an have it directly connect to my apex. Got that connected, by simply using my home ip, and opening up XML.

Easy peasy.

In order for me to get that, I had to do a firmware update. Followed ReeferGil's youtube video, and what not. relatively easy peasy.

Woke up the next morning, and my EB8 was disconnected from the apex. Googled, and found that I possibly had to also do a firmware update to the eb8. Did that. Painless.

All my programming code was gone. Fortunately, I save it on a word doc. Copy, Paste. Easy peasy.

5 hours later, I check fusion, and it says disconnected.

Ever since that firmware update to 4.52, my apex constantly disconnects, we're talking 5, 6 times per day.

Now, I'm a computer moron. Literally. I have it set up on 192.168.1.50 port 80. Aquatic Log can connect, so it's fine there. Now, i read that I need port forwarding, and this is where I'm a complete an utter moron. I have verizon fios, and a verizon router. I contacted them now 3x to help set up port forwarding, and 3x ended with me hanging up the phone because as my luck would have it, I get someone who has no clue how to set it up.

What I need is someone who gets this stuff to walk me through it. Hell I'll even give you control to do it, but the disconnecting needs to stop or else I'm going to go full Office Space on this apex.

I'm not really familiar with some of the ins and outs of the Apex but I can probably help with port forwarding. Can you tell me your Verizon router's model number or name?

I have used this website and it's associated software before back in my online gaming days. This page has instructions for your specific router:
https://portforward.com/actiontec/mi424wr/

It sounds like you're good on the static IP address as long as the apex seems to be staying accessible. I think you can skip to Step 2 and log in to your router and follow the page's instructions for port forwarding.

Followed that. well see what happens. I also enabled dhcp.

So adding port forwarding didn't help. the apex once again lost connection to the network, and I again had to add the EB8 back to apex. I am able to access it using my home IP, and going to leave it there. Linking to fusion appears to send it to chaos.

Does the fusion app give any details with the red alert thing?

Not sure what the cause of that problem is. I would think you would not want DHCP enabled though, that causes your IP address to be assigned by the router on lease terms, usually 5 days. You might find the Apex's IP address has changed each week so I'd keep that in mind if you find you're not able to log in from your computer. I think DHCP is preferred in most cases but can be a pain when you want a device to function a server or keep it's IP address the same. Some newer routers will let you enable DHCP but also tell keep certain devices under the same address which can take care of that problem.

no idea. I have since turned it off. I did initiate my profiles after reading that a corrupt profile may be causing the disconnect. I thought maybe an init all would do it but apparently not.

16 hours and no disconnects after doing an init profiles.

Fingers crossed

50+ hours without a disconnect. Added components to the apex again, and we're crossing fingers. It appears the complete init of profiles may have fixed the issue

The disconnects have started again, 24 hours after setting up profiles. There is something in there that the apex doesn't like.

Go find the older version of firmware that was working. I had an issue with the new version on mine. Was up all night reprogramming outlets

I would ask Neptune about it. I've been on 4.52 on my classic and had no problems, KOW!

My most recent system log. Looks like my system has initiated a few times today. Houston we have problems.

Used the software Neptune sent me to reset the router. Unfortunately 3 more disconnects last night.

Bought this thing for $400. This will be the 3rd time I've sent it back, at $150 each...I'm half tempted to just take my sledgehammer to it and get a new one.

Try use a different router and see if you have an issue.
