I picked up a free 55 gallon tank, it needs to be cleaned up for sure. Initial leak test showed no signs of leaking. So I went ahead and started the clean up. Let's just say this tank was negelcted for a few years. Once I am able to get the tank cleaned then I will do the actual leak test and let it sit for about a week.

Hope it was never used as a hospital tank for freshwater. Copper stays around in the silicone and will ruin a reef.

Check the silicone seals. Are they clear or greenish in color?

If it's safe--- AWESOME !! That's a sweet find.

Seal are all still clear. Just haveing trouble getting the white calcification off. Gone through 2 razor blades and about a half gallon of white vinigar. Going to try a couple ounces of white vinigar in a spray bottle and fill the rest with water, to try to get a higher concentrate of the vinigar. See if that helps get it cleaner.

As for lighting, going to get another AI Prime HD and pair it with my other Prime HD and have them over it.

Fill with tap water, add 1g vinegar, and a circulating pump. That crud comes off all by itself :)

WOW, gotta love auto correct to jibberish, lol. I have a spare circulation pump for mixing salt that I can use.
