Hi all. Let me start by saying this is technically going to be my 3rd reef set up. The last one being about five years ago and on the smaller size, a 14 gallon bio cube. I was absolutely in love with it and always wanted to step up my game but didn't have the space.
Now that we have purchased a home and have more room than I know what to do with i figured it's time. So I started at the bottom and have been working on this build for a little over a year. First step was to upgrade my service to a 200 amp panel and build a sump/refugium room in the basement and have some circuits, lights and heat brought over. I'm currently in the dry fit stages of the plumbing but man am I excited. I've wanted to build something like this forever.

Awsome mate looking goof cant wait to c what you do any more info or pics on the build what rock& filtration are you running and any stock plans yet

Thanks! I'll be scaping with pukani dry. I'm planning on a mixed reef with heavy focus on sps. So far my filtration includes skimmer, algae scrubber, carbon reactor, gfo reactor, and bio pellet reactor. It will have a refuge ... but mainly for pod growth.. I absolutely have to have a mandarin. Along with the Mandarin I was thinking a pair of snowflake clown fish and a few banggai cardinals.

I haven't had much free time but I was able to get a solid day in on the build.

Quick tip... zip ties make for an excellent extra set of hands when your trying out different plumbing routes.
The last picture shows how I returned the uv sterilizer. I thought it was key.

This build looks great, we don't have basements in my part of the world. Every time I see one of these builds I kind of wish we did. Tanks on a solids concrete floor are nice but the extra room in the basement would be pretty cool. Looking forward to watching this progress

Starting to work on the water mixing station. I'm still shopping and researching RO/DI set ups. The one hung on the wall now is an old one I've had for years and leaks like the S. S. Minnow. I'm 95 percent positive I'll be ordering the vertex puretek deluxe 100.
