So the curing begins (Dry Fuji Rock)

After a thorough scrub and soak in RO.........

put 90lbs of dry rock in saltwater...in a large brute can.

A 300w heater and a jeboa rw 15 at full throttle...

3-4 days in..... water is yellowing,,,,gonna change 50% tomorrow

Good luck! Hopefully it goes quickly for you. Curing 25 pounds of BRS reef saver rock. I am on day 20 and still not testing positive for nitrites. Started adding pure ammonia 9 days ago to keep my ammonia between 2-4 ppm. Still waiting. Just added GFO a few days ago to absorb phosphates.

Reef saver rock is very clean and has very little to no dead organisms on it. You need to add nutrents to it to cycle. Fiji and pukani rock is loaded with dead crap that will turn into nutrients that will cycle it.

Thanks tonizzy22, I added a cube of frozen marine food but may break down and throw in shrimp soon. I was trying to avoid it due to the smell. Do you think more marine food would do it?
