So what fish should i get? so many choices

i have a 30g reef that is 2 months old. ive had a yellow tailed damsel in it for those two months. (cycled with atm colony, worked great had to use colony with a fish in the tank). i got him with the intent of a "sacrificial" fish and get rid of him when tank cycled and introduced new fish ( heard they can be aggressive). he has been healthy as can be throughout this whole two months. but over the two months his personality has really shined through and ive grown attached to him. hes a little skittish but during feedings i can almost hand feed it to him. i really want fish that will do well with him and thats where i get lost. i know i want 1 orange and 1 black clown, yellow watchman goby, pistol shrimp, some other shrimp (idk yet what would be best) and maybe a wrasse or something? do yall think this combo of fish would work good together? if not, what fish do yall experienced reefers recommend?

More than likely the damsel will get aggressive once it becomes an adult. Depending on how well your system can handle livestock (and what type of tank it is) will limit you on what all you can have in it. Lots of people will say that 30 gallons is too small for a wrasse. The clowns will do well in that size of a tank, but a pair will more than likely become aggressive and claim the entire tank as it's territory. A single clown would be less likely to become a problem. Most of the gobys would do very well in this size of a tank, including a yellow watchman.

Yellow Tail Damsel are one of my favorites, I have never had an issue, in fact just bought another. Hope you feel differently about sacrificial fish now.

Do you have a lid for the tank?

Royal Gramma, Fire Fish, Chalk Bass, Yellow Watchman Goby, Possum Wrasse, Yellow, Flame Hawk, Midas Blenny.

Your current list will work, but with clown s and the damsel I would avoid any appropriate wrasses. I would als o not recommend any basslets or firefish. The hawkfish and midas blenny suggestions are good.

oh i do. he is a small young damsel too so im hoping hes not aggressive yet and the introduction of other fish will go smooth. i was thinking royal gramma instead or wrasse/ basslet. think that would be a better option for me? no lid yet. im getting one on friday. had to find one i liked. having problems with tons of evap daily. hope the lid cuts back on that and with the desired goby situation.

midas blenny looks great. between that or RG which do you think would mesh well with my fish list?
