I'm trying to figure out what to put in my tank next (LPS/softie tank). I need more color, or at least variation; everything in there is pretty green right now haha. Any suggestions? I prefer long and wavy over polyps but I realize a healthy mix will look better in the end. They should be relatively hardy considering the tank is about a month old (but very stable -- I started with cured LR and have monitored levels every day and things are looking great). (Corals are much bigger they're just angry from moving around the tank)

I'd go for the neon toadstool (although it looks like you may have that already)

Euphyllia like frogspawn and hammers are pretty cheap and will give you great motion. Acans are a good way to get color in your tank as well.

Yeah, I have a small toadstool frag that seems to be doing pretty well. I have a hammer in there already but I think I'll just keep my eye out for some different colored euphyllia that I can use to create a "garden".

Montipora. Red , blue orange or purple.

Gorgonians would also be good and add Heith to the tank scape.

Lobo Les on the sand would look good. Buying some of them you could declare bankruptcy depending on the color.

Bubble corals. Very easy coral. Pink yellow

Plate corals on the sand perhaps.

Candy canes , good Heith a few different colors.

A frog spawn or torch. An Aussie gold is impressive. Frogs can get tall.

ZOAS & PALYS

a bazillion colors, easy to keep, easy to grow.....there are some WILDLY SICK colors out there

I'm SHOCKED they are 3rd place for colors as most people gravitate to Acros and chalices for color....both of which easily die during an oopppss alkspike. Zoas n palys arr pretty darn hardy.

I think zoas n palys are better than any other coral

This is my favorite tank that should be close to what you're looking for

Yep that has a TON of color! Thank you, checking that out!

EDIT: I bought my hammer, bicolor blenny, hermits, toadstool, and sinularia from him! He operates one of the LFS I go to!!

Mixed tank . Toadstool, torches..... montiporas....

Is this yours? It's beautiful! That leather is massive and I like how the color palette is spread out.

Awesome suggestions, thank you. I'm not sure I could keep a Monti alive though -- I have no experience with SPS. Do you think they're hardy enough for a young tank? It really has been stable.

I just looked up an Aussie Gold and that thing is AWESOME I have to track one down!

I'm definitely planning on adding a bubble corner -- on his own -- in the corner of the tank. That's easily one of my favorite corals because of how unique they are.

I'd really love to have a monti in there if they can tolerate slightly dirtier water (although I'm finding it hard to get my phosphates and nitrates above 0 :/ for my softies).

A lot of monti grow like weeds. Mine do and usually always have and the one have DEF does.

Not sure about the Po4 no3 , I Haven’t tested yet this year.

It’s a very good starter /tester coral.
