Actual tank before ammonia hit .50. Molly back to LFS tomorrow , currently in a bucket with air stone and heater since yesterday.. (swing shift )
 
The ones I had in the other 10 gallon went In. Bad idea?

did they all survive? did u take them back? you could just throw in a piece of raw shrimp and that would start your cycle

I know that now bud :/. Other smaller tank I’m trying with just atm. I lost 1 Molly.
 
Oh boy, where to start with this one. Most folks consider a fish in cycle to be cruel (for the reason that you found out, it tends to kill fish) and there are plenty of fishless cycle methods that don't harm anything. It appears you learned that lesson the hard way. DO NOT ADD ANYTHING to your tank until Ammonia and Nitrites are completely gone and nitrates have dropped down. Generally the best course of action is to wait for your brown algae (Diatom Bloom) to come in and then you should be able to add a cleanup crew (ie snails and hermit crabs), after it is gone and everything tests good then you should be safe to add your first fish. Oh and are you using treated tap water mixed with salt or are you using RODI water mixed with salt?

RODI from LFS until my 5 stage gets here.

Here is where we are at as of today. Trying to settle on aquascape as nitrite and ammonia drop. What ya think?
