....I think?
They where used to jump start the cycle, yes I now know there’s other methods. At the time I was following lfswait....i'm confused...whats with the betta and mollies?
I know that now bud :/. Other smaller tank I’m trying with just atm. I lost 1 Molly.did they all survive? did u take them back? you could just throw in a piece of raw shrimp and that would start your cycle
RODI from LFS until my 5 stage gets here.Oh boy, where to start with this one. Most folks consider a fish in cycle to be cruel (for the reason that you found out, it tends to kill fish) and there are plenty of fishless cycle methods that don't harm anything. It appears you learned that lesson the hard way. DO NOT ADD ANYTHING to your tank until Ammonia and Nitrites are completely gone and nitrates have dropped down. Generally the best course of action is to wait for your brown algae (Diatom Bloom) to come in and then you should be able to add a cleanup crew (ie snails and hermit crabs), after it is gone and everything tests good then you should be safe to add your first fish. Oh and are you using treated tap water mixed with salt or are you using RODI water mixed with salt?
