So, I just read, "The Supreme Guide to Starting a Reef."
I was doing so well, but noticed a potential mistake I've made and wanted some opinions before I proceed.
Tank is set up, plumbed, water tested, rockscape finished, RODI resevoir filling. I'm a day away from filling with saltwater and beginning my cycle. However.....
I ran vinegar and then bleach to clean and sterilize this used tank. After running bleach, I thoroughly rinsed everything and let it sit bone dry for a few days. Just as a precaution, I again filled with tap water (city water) and let all pumps and powerheads run, simply to be extra sure I had no residue. I was going to drain, dry, add my live sand, live rock, and fill with saltwater.
I did have my dry rock in the tank, filled with tap water though and that's where I'm wondering if I've screwed the pooch, and if so, what steps I should take to remedy.
