In my experience, no. The mesh simply doesn’t filter as small of particles as the sock. The advantage is, the mesh doesn’t seem to clog as quickly and cleans easily just using a sprayer in my utility sink. If you have a skimmer, the mesh work great, because they don’t capture the smaller particles the skimmer will pull out anyway. Just my experience.Hi I’ve been using felt 100 micron sock
Just ordered mesh 100 micron
Will they perform the same ?
Felt work better for obvious reasons but may need To be cleaned as often as 2x per week. I purchased them in bulk on Amazon and threw them away.Hi I’ve been using felt 100 micron sock

Back before BRS turned into an evil corporate entity they did a study on filter socks. It’s worth a watch. Basically (IIRC) felt socks are useless unless you change them 2x per week….ASIDE from the fact that they will keep gunk from entering your sump.
I use auto rollers and honestly they’re fantastic. I use a Neptune Apex 24v port + a buck converter to just roll them 2x a week and I ditched the eye sensor and it’s been great.
I throw in wash alone inside out (dirty out) probably would use indefinitelyNot to highjack your post, but while on the subject.... how long do you guys keep felt socks? I have been rotating 3 socks for the past 3 years, but obviously they clog more easily now.
Wash routine:
First: remove big particle under the sink
Second: 10% bleach for 24 hrs
Third : wash off the bleach in the sink and let it dry for a week minimum.
Fourth: wet/quick rinse with Rodi prior to reuse.
Thanks.
