ok, i use brs 2 part and everytime i dose the alk part it turns into flakes instantly.no matter how much is dosed.even i single drop flakes up.
what causes this to happen and is it safe to use?

im tempted to use baking soda but i wanted to hopefully get a answer before i do.
a friend told me to dilute the alk in ro water then dose it.i want to use doser pumps and that seems like a pain in the !@# if it was hooked up to a doser. any help is greatly appreciated

Haven't heard that one before. I don't use ash so can't help with that, but I do use Baking Soda with no issues.

Magnesium could be low.... magnesium is what helps keep cal/alk from precipitating instantly

my mag is at 1290 my cal is 460 ish my alk is at 5.5
i keep trying to raise my alk but it keeps flaking.just scares the crap out of me is all.is it still safe to use? or should i just go the baking soda route/

1290 is a bit low... mag should be 3x your calcium.

one more quick question please.im making a batch of alk with baking soda and my alk is at 5.5 dkh...how many points a day should i raise it...my alk never been this low before.

You should be able to go right to 8 on your first day.
