Hello everyone.

So I was looking at making my own alkalinity supplement using sodium carbonate
I'm currently using red sea foundation powder and use 1kg to make 10L

How much sodium carbonate would I need to dissolve in 10L to get the same effect as using red sea?

I assume that they use pure sodium bicarbonate not sodium carbonate. You can dissolve around 100 g Sodium bicarbonate in 1 litre of water. If you using sodium carbonate - you can dissolve around 3.5 times more in 1 L of water but it will temporarily raise your pH. Triton Core 7 use sodium carbonate

Their product can also be a combination. 84 % NaHCO3 and 16 % Na2CO3 is a widely used formula.

Sincerely Lasse
