Hi randy I've got some Sodium Silicate Solution 75Tw - Waterglass - Liquid Glass is this ok for me to dose and how much would you recommend? I have about 200g tank. I did read your your article but struggled to get my brain around it. Thanks

The purpose is to encourage sponges, or to try to shift the growth from green algae to diatoms?

If you add about 1 mL of that solution to your tank, it will boost silicate by about 0.6 ppm, which is less than the NSW level. That seems like a fine dose to try, and I'd add it once every 1-2 weeks.

The growth on the glass may shift from green to brownish, at least for a few days until it is depleted again. IME, the brownish haze was less obscuring than the green.

It's not for sponges only for the algae on the glass. So is that 1ml straight or should I be diluting that.thanks

It is one mL of the straight fluid, but you can disperse it in some fresh water before addition. Add to a very high flow area and expect initial cloudiness (magnesium hydroxide, most likely) that will eventually redissolve. Maybe add it in a sump away from creatures.
