Hi guys, in November a friend bought a soft coral frag for me in Miami as a gift. I really like this coral, however, I never really took the time to try to identify it. My friend isn't in the hobby so he just asked for the easy to keep corals and also didn't get the name. Recently this coral has been going down hill fast in a timespan of one week. It was doing really well, but I don't know what happened. I have a few other Zoas in the tank and a torch coral, as well as an anemone and some type of mushroom. Only this coral and one zoa frag have gone downhill. I have done water changes without any luck. Unfortunately I currently don't have a test kit as I misplaced it when moving my tank. I ordered a new one however its not here yet, as I live on an island and I had to order from the states. I have two questions; what type of coral is this? And what can I do to try to save this coral without know my parameters?

This is what it used to look like

Looks like a Duncan to me

Duncan, or some few people call it whisker coral. It's a LPS. What kind of lighting do you have? Flow? Are you feeding it?

Here is mine to compare

Actually yeah. Salt residue ate away my led lighting by Current and I switched to a AI prime I already had. Other than that I noticed the change a day after I probably topped off with too much water. The light switch and top-off happened within 48 hours. I'll try lowering the coral. I've been doing 10% water changes every two days as well hoping to fix possible problems with chemistry
