I have a Fluval AquaSky full spectrum light, would it be enough to support soft coral? The light goes from 3000 to 25 000k.
Hello and welcome to R2R!

I’m not familiar with that light, but we will get you an answer.

Welcome to R2R!

My understanding is that the mfg recommends it for planted or fish only aquariums. Usually, a sign that it isn't optimal by any stretch. Is there a big advantage (other than $) to try and make it work? Probably not.

So probably wouldn't work for low light corals like soft coral?

Ships,
Thanks for signing up, and Welcome to Reef 2 Reef!!

I don't think it can pull it off either. Looks like, for more of a fish only light.

Would this work? Also I'm open to suggestions. Would prefer to stay LED with built in timers. I'm not sure whether I want to keep the light and do fish only with rocks or return it and buy another light. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GFTSV24/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1541796376&sr=8-4&keywords=reef+tank+lights&dpPl=1&dpID=41FoaGZviPL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1
I have the smallest one on a 10 gallon with Xenia, Green Star Polyps, mushrooms, and Ricordia all doing great.

Would it be worth the trouble for a 38 gallon? I was wanting to put a couple of angelfish in it. Probably a coral beauty and a flame angel. Both I believe are reef safe if I remember right.

Their not reef safe, but 38 gallon might be to small, or for only one angel.

My next question would be, what does it mean by safe with caution? Just watch them closely for the first few days?

Also what would be a suggestion of something that isn't a clownfish that I can keep in a 38 gallon?

+1... :rolleyes:

And you need a more mature reef and more experience anyways, before angels.

@Ships
Go slow, and get a pair of small clowns for an 38 gallon.
