There’s a lot of information about angels with SPS or LPS, but I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with softies and angels.

While I have a variety of soft coral and LPS, I am wondering if anyone has experience with Nepthea and the following angels:

Flagfin, Regal, Majestic, and Flame

This is for my 190G display. I also totally understand that you could get 10 angels of one species and 9 would be model citizens and one would munch on every coral that it could find.

I think you answered your own question here, but from the limited research I've done, some leather corals don't taste very good to some angels so they may leave them alone and look for more tasty options.

My flame doesn't seem to bother any of the LPS, zoo's or softies. It loves SPS polyps which is a real bummer for me. This is my daughters fish and she would be devastated if I got rid of it. So for now its LPS, zoo's and softies for me.

Does anyone have experience with angels and Nepthea?

I think it’s a hit or miss with them . I had a coral beauty that didn’t touch any coral . Also had a half black angel and he loved polyps ..

Limited experience, one flame was a problem.
Didn’t touch it first year, but eventually just trimmed the tips. Don’t think he ate them...behaved a bit like a kid with a bad habit.
But did this regularly so small bits were floating around. They were constantly landing on, and irritating, other corals. In the end I kept the fish and removed the nephthea.

I have a Goldflake, Regal, Flame, Bicolor, Potter’s , Coral Beauty & a Multicolor . No nipping with Soft corals including Nepthea. No nipping on Gonipora. Like you said it varies with individuals, age etc. I once had a filefish that was a coral nipper.

My flame pecks everything, stealing bits, I have had nepthya and dendros in and she didn't touch them.

Only soft corals i have are corky finger and ricordeas. I also have gorgs, if those count. Both my centropye never nipped them. But this maybe luck not their propensity.
Angles were coral beauty and pygmy yellow tail.

Zoas& shrooms always get smashed. Leathers seem not taste good. If you can get gsp & xenia established it seems impossible to get whipped out. The non dropping Kenya tree seemed to have a bad taste as well. My experience with a few dwarfs & some poma

I have dwarf angels and no issues. Ive had full size angels that ate my lps like candy

The male of my flame pair would pick gorgonians. I had a Flavicaudis which ate zoanthids. Only softies I have now are some toadstool leathers and zoanthids and my venusta hasn't touched them. Got to echo what was said several times now, each angelfish is different and may or may not pick at any coral. With any "with caution" fish it may come down to, do I prefer this fish or this coral and one or the other must go.

My emp just ate 3 heads of hammer and started picking at the candy cane I got for 50% off. Ugh

Sounds about right

Plan to lose some corals over time if you decide these fish. I currently have Bluering, queen, emporer, majestic and no issues with LPS however i have a feeling it's all going to change as they size up.

Multiple flame angels with leathers and xenia with no problem.

Spotbreast Genicanthus obviously no problem. Never kept any full-size angels.

Edit: green star polyps fine as well

i have a toadstool, green nepthea, some random palys, ricordia mushrooms, gsp, and blue green sympodium and my flame angel has left all of that stuff alone. he has been really quite reef safe. i saw him give my stylo a peck a couple of times, but it doesn't seem to do much for him or the coral

Nepthea is my favorite softy, but unfortunately one of my regals and one of my blue lines also love them. Weird that only one of each of the pairs of angels eat the corals.
