soft corals closed, hard corals fine

title says it. leather, and gorgonions are mostly closed for the last week sps, brain, star, cup corals seam fine. birdsnest growing like crazy. all parameters are right on.it's a 75 with 6x54 t=5s. any ideas. 1 of the blade gorgonions also seams fine

Leathers can be a pain in the butt. You tick them off, and they can stay closed up for weeks. The other reason its closed may be that its shedding. does the leather look glossy all of a sudden?

actually, it never really opened since I bought it, and the gorgonians started closing after the leather was added as I think about it now

I would do water change and to rid of possibly Leather toxin, apply carbon to absorb & clean your system ...

done and done. no help. what I just did is remove the leather from the tank. I,ll see if there is any change

Id leave the carbon running for a bit, and leave the Leather alone. It will respond. But, your call, if you thinks its messing up the tank, then remove it.

Might be the difference in the lighting it came from, not used to your powerful lights yet in the DT.

ok on the leather, but my gorgonian used to open fully[sea rod]. my blade gorgonian seams fine
