Soft corals that won't overtake a tank?

I'd like to add some more softies to my tank (which is still relatively young) but my focus is more on LPS and SPS corals. I already have 2 weeds, GSP and pulsing xenia. I've got them both isolated on islands so I can control their growth, and plan to put some frogspawn between the xenia and "main" rocks just to be safe, but what else can I add that is easy to control and won't cause extreme chemical warfare? I know mushrooms will sometime detach and float around the tank, so they're out of the question, and I know leathers release some nasty chems which I don't want in there. Do I have any more options?

Ricordea mushrooms won't detach and float around. They aren't like hairy mushrooms. They like to be in one place. You can try a purple sea whip photosynthetic. Maybe some Zoas and palys and glue them on a rock you want them to grow on.

The main soft corals that you wanna avoid due to extremely fast growth are xenias, star polyps, Kenya trees and sometimes hairy mushrooms.

Hey thanks for the advice. I love the look of rics and it's great to hear that they're less invasive than other mushrooms! I'm placing an order from KPaquatics sometime in the next month so I'll probably grab a few polyps I understand that they're peaceful towards eachother so I think I'll make a nice ric rock somewhere on the sandbed with 2 or 3 types mixed in.

Toadstools are nice, they don't spread, but are easy to do cuttings and they come in different colors. My clown fish hosted in mine.

Any soft coral has the ability to grow fast and over everything but maintaining them is key. Stay away from green star polyps, Kenya trees, some palyotha, Xenia

I've got a blue Sympodium that's (so far, at least) pretty laid back and well-behaved. The polyps look a bit like tiny cloves . . .

Photosynthetic gorgonians tend to play nice and do like high flow as well (which I’m assuming if mushroom detachment is a concern is the flow level in the tank)
