Hi All!

Looking for softie tank inspo — if you have some, post it here!

After giving it much thought I’ve decided to turn my nano into a primarily softie tank. I have a couple LPS doing well, as well as a couple birdsnest frags and an elephant skin doing well, but my blenny nips on them. I just got sick of dealing w/the stress of watching a healthy frag get picked on, and would honestly love to have a pretty but low-maintenance tank.

I’ve leaned into zoas and leathers, and have a clove polyp frag, as well as a few ricordea mushrooms and some blue sympodium. What else? Photosynthetic Gorgonians? Photosynthetic plating sponge? Just no green star polyps!

Gorgs need more room than most nanos can give. You can give a small frag a try, but once they begin to grow, they need space. I would skip the gorg unless is it the GSP (Briarium) - which you vetoed already.
Plating sponge is great, but takes over a tank when happy. Just an FYI.
Maybe a little toadstool. Japanese tree (Capnella) if small.
Here is my 6g with mostly softies. The Rics get huge during the day and it is very full and flowy.

The shroom rock in my tank adds so much color! I was all about sticks and high end LPS for a while but find myself coming back to shrooms and Zoa and other softy’s.

That is so cool and I was wondering if different shroom corals could touch and overlap each other like that. I'm trying to start the same thing on sides of my tank in low flow and par. How much light do yours get?

Only a year and a half in from a reboot but it's filling in nicely. Love softies.. and everything for that matter. I decided instead of a new SPS dominated tank I would use the left side of our 250 for lps/nps/softy and the right side is going to be 100% SPS.. hence not in picture ;)

Less see more y'all!

I have an 83g mostly softy tank. I love it. Low maintainence and great movement. Have gorgs, gsp, xenia, toadstools, kenya trees, shrooms, and a few LPS. Do what you want and like-----it's your tank.

What’s the fish to the left of the court jester?
