Here is my take on The Midas Blenny (continuing from another thread).

Do some research first of course. The eel like movement is hypnotizing. He swims front and center all day, but rests a lot because he has no swim bladder. It means he has no bouancy and has to work very hard to swim in the flow. Best thing is he changes his color with his mood. Blues, pinks, purples. Mine is an African Midas Blenny. There is also one commonly available from Maldives.

hmm, would i have to change flow in my tank for the blenny to survive?

My flow is pretty high. Maxes around 1,800 GPH which is about 50x total volume, 60x display volume. He loves swimming in it, just rests a lot.

Ive got a question, maybe yall may know how to answer. But when should a person add a clam to their tank?

IMO I would avoid grye's and esp MP40's in a 65g softy/LPS tank. I think you may be providing too much flow for these soft fellows. I would say 20-40x turnover would be great.

just monitor the pump. as long as you have an eye on it, youll be fine. i trusted it a little too much.
