Update on the tank:

Woke up this morning to my tank with ink in it from the sea hare. Apparently the sea hare thought it would be nice to eat the non existent algae ON TOP of the Anemone. Sea Hare released its beautiful purple ink into the water column and now i have lost more fish. Holy cow, im absolutely losing it.

Just finished a 100% water change.

Fish that were lost during the inking:
Yellow tang
Scopas Tang
Green Clown Goby
Two baby clowns
Florida Pearly Jawfish

Inverts that were lost:
Obviously: The Sea Hare
Three Sand Shifting Sea Stars
Two Cleaner Shrimp

All Coral are doing fine as they are softies.. thats a win i guess.
However the plate coral is very upset. The torches are back to normal
NPS Gorg is upset.
Mushrooms split due to stress i believe. I now have 2 extra mushrooms

Clam is unphased but I heard it takes a while for the clam to show signs.

Coco worm is doing fine. Not bothered.

Fish that are alive
Dragon Goby: is doing fine, moving along.
FireFish: A bit stressed, but is eating.
Sailfin Tang (My Baby): Is kicking rear end, doing good.
Hippo Tang: Looks fine, there is loss of coloration on the first spike in the dorsal fin. Usually blue/black to white.
Black Ice Snowflake Clown: Unbothered.
Duo Zebra dartfish: Keep going in and out of caves, stressed.
Engineer Goby: Has created a new hole to chill in, very dark in color.

I am running carbon just incase there is remains of the inking on the rocks.

LESSON LEARNED.

Aw man, I'm sorry. That really sucks. Hope you're doing ok and taking this in stride. One the tough lessons. Sending good vibes to you.

Sorry about your tank!

The main reason I will never do another nem except in a dedicated tank.
Absolutely beautiful!
Absolutely a PITA. :-(

Same with the cowfish/boxfish, sea apple and eels.

Absolutely beautiful but species only.

yeah. Def. a lesson learned on my part.

Also, update: I guess there is still some left over from the ink. Scopas Tang has died, Firefish has died. All fish have been moved to QT. Tank is now empty. no fish.
Bummer, we all been there, we feel your lost, comrade

Update: Fish are back in the tank.
My homemade canister filter sprang a leak a week ago, when I found out half the tank empty of sw, effected some of my children of the sea. Most I hope recoup.
Took 4 days to get half way. Always something

That sucks! Hope you don't lose anything.

what fish do you still have back in the tank?

Did you treat them in QT? If so with what?
No treatment was needed. They were just pulled out due to ink from the sea hare.

Hello everyone! Thought id give an update on the tank. As of right now most of the coral are doing great. Two of my leathers are having a moment as they shed and are annoying me to how they look.. Clam is doing great! Im looking forward to adding another clam to the tank quite soon.

The gorgonian which is located on the right side of the tank has some growth to it which is crazy. The nps gorg is creating more "arms". Xenia is beginning to spread which i am happy because this is one of the coral which i was having troubles with. The waving hand coral is growing more and more babies, i now have found some stalks on the right side next to the cespitularia.

The BTA anemone has found its spot almost 2ish weeks ago, its a little shady so i have added a very dull light to the tank so that it gets the light it needs.

The snails keep having late night fun and im finding myself having more and more baby snails.

The strawberry crab is doing its thang, not much to it.

Since yesterday, ive counted a total of 18 asterina stars, i kind alike them.

The giant finger leather on the right side has let off two very small frags.

the coco worm has grown about 3/4 of an inch since it was bought.

the two kenya trees feel that it is necessary to populate my tank with baby kenya's! Ive now got around 12-15 frags in the tank somewhere.

Nepthia is beginning to grow more "arms".

@Katrina71 was right! The mushrooms grow like no tomorrow.

Also, im finding my goby wants to pick fights with my hippo tang. but the sailfin tang is protecting the hippo.... is that weird?

Last thing, maybe #reefsquad can help.. How can i tell my dartfish are laying eggs? Its a difficult spot to see where they hang out, but they are very protective of the back right side of the tank. Is this a sign of them just laying their territory or being protective of eggs?
