yes I'm up @ 3:30 am!!!! my wife got up and heard a funny noise:sad:.......yes, oh yes a fitting broke loose and i got about 25 gallons of water on the floor! pumps were run dry, and screaming!! carpet is pretty bad and the water made it all the way around to the kitchen. tank life is ok, wife is MAD, and I'm freaking tired!!!! sometimes i want to get out of this **** hobby.

anyhoo....just thought i would vent a bit because this is just how my life works :crossedlips:

yuck. that stinks. never had a tank break in the house before but i have dumped a 30 gallon water change barrel. i have all tile though so other then being a pain it ended up not being a big deal.

be sure to pull up the carpet/ remove the padding/ then rent a few of those flood fans from home depot. then put new padding and relay the carpet. that is the only way you will get rid of any smell that is sure to happen

If its possible for you, turn on your central air....The dehumidifiers will suck lots of that water up. There are two people in this hobby...Ones who have had a flood, and those who havent had a flood yet.

call your insurance. I've had a few friends flood there houses with there tanks and all were takin care of by their insurance. good luck.

Ricky,

I feel your pain. I let the RODI barrel overflow the other night and put 15 gallons or so on the floor. Luckily, my setup is in the basement but it still went under the stairs and soaked the carpet at the landing. A Shop Vac is a must have!

I'm using a friends chiller till i can find another one....the threaded cap cracked and the grommet broke the seal...water every were!!!
