Final fish on my “wishlist” for new 500g/10ft tank.

Which is “least” aggressive in your experience..

For context, I had a clown tang in a 200g/6ft before years ago and up until 8” when he passed on he was less aggressive than my 6” yellow tang.

maybe I was lucky? Heard some horror stories about both but looking for one or the other as they are just great looking fish.

clown tang imo is better looking and also much cheaper here in UK but I do like a sohal

opinions welcome

I'm a little late to the party, but here's my 2 cents. They both can be aggressive, but, in my experience, typically only to other tangs. I've had both over the years & currently have a 3" sohal in my 380g. My experience says sohals are more aggressive overall, but each fish is different. It keeps my purple tang in check, but hasn't paid much attention to the other fish in the tank. Your tank size should definitely help alleviate some of the aggression issues, but over time as it gets bigger, a sohal will most likely insist on being the dominant fish in your tank

They’re both nasty as can be. Clown less nasty than Sohal.

Even later to the party ......

Sohal is OK, mostly, until it gets to about 7” then every other fish in your tank is a potential casualty. A hard pass for me. Clown not quite as bad, but still hyper aggressive.
