Beautiful fish, maybe he caught it on something, someone? My YT had similar a couple years ago, since they don’t retract. Healed up on its own, hope experts help, good luckHas anyone ever seen this? Kinda looks like something is wedged in there keeping it open.
Anything I can do?

He is a gorgeous fish….I had to move him out of my 175 reef tank with multiple other tangs because he bullied everyone. He would not let anyone else eat.
I even added him last and it did not matter.
I moved him into a 330 gal a couple days ago….he’s only with 2 clowns right now.
The scalpel situation happened today somehow.

I love Sohals but im in my 41st year and it is by far the nastiest tang ive ever owned and followed by Passer angel

No wonder you’re so smart! Boy, the stories you could tell, I was just laughing with my husband about how filter pads are now back in style, only now on rollers. We started in the 80’s having to rehome our huge, 14 or 15 “ carpet anemone that roamed the tank every night! And no meds for occasional ich, just the Diatom Filter by Vortex!
