My tank is A 120 gallon 48x24x24 would two Sol Blues be enough to cover tank. I will be purchasing these units used. Also do to the canopy I have they will only bemountid aout five inches from waterline.

I use 3 on my 6' tank and grow anything I want in it. I think two on a 4' would be just fine. Mine is also 27" deep and 27" wide so you have three less inches to worry about.

I would say yes. I have 5 on my 7 footer and its plenty. You can always add more if needed. Also dont worry about height mounted as you can program them for output desired.

Thanks for replies, well I added two I am getting a shady spot in center of tank. Front and back are also Dim. Going to add a third hopefully that will do it.

Shady spots are sometimes good depending on corals and inhabitants. Sometimes worth sleeping on it before pulling the trigger.

I have two on my 5 foot 100G set 12" above the water line and have no shadows at all. I turned them parallel with the tank and used T track so I could move them side to side and front to back for best coverage. Once I had them installed though I have never needed to move them since.

The leg kit they have is nowhere near high enough for good coverage and why they recommend more fixtures. I have as much or more lighting than I did with 2x250w MH and 2x140w VHO super actinics.
