I've got a Solana 34g, everything is stock for now. I am having a couple of issues. As far as the auto-topoff goes, it doesn't seem to be topping off for me. And I've got the skimmer working, but I am getting about an inch of dirty brown water with some black sludge on the bottom. Is this too much water in the cup, if so how to adjust for better performance.

Is your top of a float switch style? If so you could have a sticky float or maybe even an invert stuck to it holding it in a downward postion, not allowing the switch to activate properly. You may also have an issue with your top of pump. I would check that too. Are you having to empty your cup often? if so your more than likely skimming too wet. I would adjust the water level in your skimmer a bit to compinaste for this. hope this info helps.

the auto topoff will not work unless the water line is below the two bottles and as far as the skimmer there should be a balck rubber oring around the cup just adjust that down some for more of a dry foam
