I was wondering if anyone had a solar powered setup or what I would need to convert my setup to solar power? I'm running blackbox led, cf300 canister filter and reef octo 100 skimmer. Eventually will add power head not too intricate. What you guys think

You have to figure out the wattage of your tank to choose how many batteries and what size solar panel. There are also options on using 110v as backup like in winter to charge the batteries.
Most of the price is actually the batteries.

I like the idea of using solar power integrated in to a system. Maybe not the whole system but I would consider using partial solar power for maybe some of the equipment like skimmer, reactor and power heads for exp.

My entire roof is covered in solar panels, but that may be overkill just for a reef tank.

Did you get the answer? First, you need the solar panels, controller, connectors, an inverter to make a whole system.
