Was sold a tank last night with leaking bulkhead that was listed as working perfectly! Seller never mentioned it showed pictures of the “Flex Seal” covering the Bulk Head.I was unable to meet for pick up so I sent my Father Dave to do so and only then was Flex Seal briefly mentioned to him. When I spoke up for myself and tried to return it the next morning due to the leaking around the bulkhead the seller Refused a Refund and began to make excuses and push blame onto me and my father. He told me that he already gave the $1050 away and is only willing to come into My Home and fix it for me after I purchase the replacement parts of course. I was then called Shady and that my Behavior is Unacceptable the seller then proceeded to tell me that he has Reported me here on this Forum in plans to have me Booted? I have all of this documented through emails etc. I am attaching photos of the poor plumbing job and also an actual video of it leaking immediately after testing the overflows for a proper seal. Seller was VetteGuy53081.

Not much you can do about it now. It's too bad you weren't able to go inspect for yourself. Or at least send someone with a little experience. You certainly won't get banned here for anything you've done.

Clean flex tape off the glass and pray it's simply there for a bulkhead crack and not cracked glass. Replace bulkheads and pipe if necessary.

Hi welcome to the reef
sorry to see , but from the looks of the stand ,believe tank was not leaking before being taken down
flex seal is crap, just remove looks like 2 have it, and replace the bulks ,should be good to go.

Eh, just re-do the plumbing with new bulkheads. If it was me I would of done it anyways regardless if there was a leak or not. Just precautionary due to the nature of the damage that can be done with brittle old plumbing

Sorry to hear about your trouble. It's really an easy fix or should be, replace the bulkheads and plumbing.

Thanks everyone for the help. I am just upset because I was told it works perfectly well and I paid $1050. I myself have zero experience with drilling, bulkheads, plumbing, etc. This would be my first time setting this type of tank up so I am inexperienced I have only done Freshwater setups in the past. I do own a Waterbox 165 Frag but I’ve yet to even get that set up. I’m sure I could watch YouTube videos and figure out how to redo all of this myself. Would you recommend I give this a try without experience or find someone else with knowledge in this type of thing?? What if there is cracked glass under that flex seal what then??
