How does a skimmer like this one work? Not interested in purchasing just curious never seen one made like this one.
This skimmer doesn't use a needle wheel it uses a straight venturi after the pump outlet rather than before the inlet. This produces a thicker foam and drier skimate resulting in better water clearing. This is the way all skimmers used to work before the year 2000 when needle wheels were produced. The biggest advantage of the needle wheel is that the skimmer reaction chamber doesn't need to be as tall thus it can fit inside most stands.
