I have a buddy who received a hitchhiker soldier crab. It is super cool looking and I was wondering everyone's experience with them. Are they reef safe in everyone's experience? What do they eat? And how large has everyone gotten them to grow? The one my buddy has is about .5" but it is a super pretty blue.

Because they are an intertidal species, there aren't really kept in reef or underwater setups. Basically, in order to keep them alive, I suspect you would need to create a shoreline setup which can be difficult, especially since these guys seem pretty fond of estuary outlets where salinities may border on brackish.

Thanks for the info! I'll let him know
