Just received my piece a few minutes ago. All I can say is WOW! The purple is amazing even in through a double layered plastic bag. I'm so grateful to get a piece of this coral and the story that accompanies it.

Great job!!!

Fresh out of the bayer bath. I'll post pics once it's settled in

Purple monster is such a storied acro. I have it after spending a lot of time locating it. Like to believe mine is a frag traced back to the original colony first talked about.

Kind of sad and cool that another source was found by unique corals in the Solomon Islands. Cool because it's wonderful to make this coral available to more reefers. And sad because it was kind of cool to feel like you actually tracked down a frag that came from the original, or atleast a great, great grandchild of that colony.

Enjoy this really cool and very famous coral.

I hope it colors up quick
Nice size frag btw.

Really glad you're enjoying this coral. It IS truly special...We love the history, and what's really cool is that we have a complete documentation of the "rediscovery", type locality, collection, transport, and propagation of this coral. When Jake Adams shipped it back from The Solomon Islands, we knew it was going to be a very special coral to a lot of serious reefers. Now, with it back in the hobby, it's our responsibility to grow it, propagate it, and distribute it as widely as possible, so that it never falls by the wayside again- and so that we never have to collect wild specimens of it!

It's not on our website as a regular "stock item", however, if you're interested in a frag, give us a call and we can sell you one. We have a bunch ready to go...We're just trying to preserve it right now as the special coral that it is...No price-gouging intentions,etc...It's juts limited, and we want hobbyists who are very serious about the coral to grab it for their collections..It's a very special coral to us!

-Thanks!
Scott

I will get a good in tank shot once it's all acclimated and in its final location. It's chilling on the frag rack with polyps out enjoying it's t5 tan it's working on...

I enjoyed Jake and Marks talk about their trip to Solomon Islands at our SCMAS meeting.

Good luck with that nice piece.
