Hello,
I have a 7 gallon nano, and am looking for advice on a tank lid that will prevent jumping and not have so much condensation build-up. My tank currently has an acrylic lid that I have modified some to allow all the cords to fit through at different locations.

Here's a pic

As you can see there is a good bit of condensation that is blocking light from entering the tank. I'm looking for suggestions that would still allow me to use in tank equipment, and not cause this problem.

Could I just take a drill bit to the acrylic and make it mostly holes?

I just bought brs screening material for the same type of lid. I'm going to cut a rectangle and glue the screen over the hole.

I think it's best to have a screen top.

With saltwater, you want an open/screen top to allow for good gas exchange. The evaporation also helps keep the temperature down during the warm months, though an ATO would then be wanted. I bought a screen top kit from BRS. I use an HOB protein skimmer and HOB filter, and was able to custom build the screen top to accommodate them [emoji846]

Yes, they are a sponsor on here, visit their web site and you can check out their clearview lids.

I use 1/4" square plastic grid (egg crate) from building supply stores sold a light diffusers for dropped ceilings.

a 4 footx2foot section is around $10 or so.
