Well guess I won't be making a closed loop or having any issues with setting up my sump..

I'll second the ouch... I hope you hadn't already invested in the mag12 and closed loop materials.

it happens, i just drilled a 55 gl tank, an old one and had not clue on tempered or not but needed it drilled and took the same chance you did. i drilled it and it came out fine.

your not out of luck, you can replace that glass is one you can drill and reseal.

if you are comfortable with silicone and want to replace the glass, you might even get the glass company to predrill the pane for you... don't expect it to be cheap though.

Yea that's something im def. gonna be looking into... Heck I know a guy who does acrilic work and am waiting on a quote from him..

I did the same thing once. Turned around and picked up another used tank and managed to drill that one. Around here, the glass is more expensive then just buying a used tank!

The tank was free so I didn't really care if that happened.. Im going to be searching around CL to see if I can find a cheap 1.. Im sure the glass won't be cheap

I just had this happen on a clients tank the other day. It worked out well for him, cuz he just ended up getting a 75 for cheap anyway.
