I ordered a $15 macro/wide angle from Ebay. I think it does really good close up. but unfortunatley I cant take a photo of anything more than 2 inches off the glass. Here are some for your amusement.

Harry, Yea, if the corals are RIGHT AT THE GLASS, it will take a photo of them. but beyond that, NO way. wish I had it when I had my zoas on a frag rack.

Well, if you can move the coral you've got it whipped!

HAHAHA!!!! yea right.. you have seen my tank. @vb68, sadly I only have a few corals that close to the glass. I may buy a cheap extension tube set to see if that gives me just a bit more of a closeup without completely killing the Fstop. that or I need a big zoom lens with a 2.8 Fstop.

All extension tubes do is allow you to focus on an object closer to the camera than the lense would normally focus. If your lense won't allow you to focus any closer than 10 inches, the extension tube will allow you to focus on an object closer. When I bought mine I didn't realize that. I thought it would give me a better macro shot of a coral that was 12 - 18 inches away. Wrong again.

Thanks for telling me that. I won't do that.

The only way to get better macro shots than the macro/wideangle you got is to get a macro lens.
