ID's are welcome but I have no need for ID. Just sharing some macros I have growing in my established QT. A couple are pretty cool. The first one here is actually very blue especially from a distance. It doesn't look blue from above though. My favorite one actually.

Some other very odd looking brown ugly globby thing. I'll be yanking them out, tangs don't eat it At least not the ones I gave it to. I often see pods swimming around inside the bubbles.

Another ugly brown one but it grows extremely fast/well and I think it is going to become a very strong nutrient exporter in this tank as well as my sump.

Another cool looking one, I think some sort of cotton candy caulerpa or something. Nice red/pink color. grows fairly slow but I'm sure it will make good treats for my tangs. Haven't tried yet though.

And just some green caulerpa I do already use in my sump. It works pretty well and is a good treat for the tangs.

1) some type of dictoya
2) padina sp
3) sargassum
4) type of graciliaria
5) caulerpa prolifera

Cool thanks for the ID. Almost completely correct except #2) I can see how it looks like that but its not. Your ID did lead me to a definite ID though, Colpomenia sp

The most God awful, stupid thing I ever allowed Into my system! It's going to cause a complete 250 gallon reboot... that's if I don't decide to get completely out. I'm nearly to the point I'd rather sink this monthly liability into a new 'Vette...

This Is what my tank used to look like before the
caulerpa...

This is where the scourge started, seems innocent enough, right?

I though it looked cool, and would be good food for my tangs. Biggest mistake ever... I have adult purple, hippo, and yellow tangs that can't keep up with it. Looking at all new rock, coral since most is dead or contaminated with sprigs of this, anything that could pass it into a clean system.

Wow, So like I said though I'm keeping the ones I posted in my quarantine tank, which I couldn't care less about. I do have some different macros in my sump on my display tank but my tangs eat everything I keep like candy. It wouldn't stand a chance in my tank at all. I'm surprised your tangs aren't eating whatever that kind is though. I haven't really found any that the tangs won't eat aside from that bubble-y one in pic number 2. I've kept all the types in my sump for years now with no issue.

I'm really stumped on your tangs not eating it. I would say maybe overfed but mine are way overfed and still devour algae faster than I could grow it.

Nice variety of Macro Algaes!

The first algae, appears to be a dictoya from growth pattern. Haven't seen it in that color before. Very cool!

Think I have the same thing as your #1. Take a look to compare but pretty sure they are both dictoya sp

Here's my favorite type of dictoya. It's red dictoya species but under my LEDs it gives off an awesome purplish coloration.
