just saw this article, very cool. The pigments in some corals that absorb blue-green light also emit into the far-red spectrum, probably to help them photosynthesize in deeper waters (if I interpreted this correctly). Could help explain why some coral seem to do well - in terms of light at least - wherever we put them in our aquariums.
