So everything was bleaching. I'm feeding, and feeding. Coraline kept dying. And for some reason this third time around in the the hobbie I just keep feeling like I want to pull my skimmer. On this tank and my last tank i just feel like the corals dont grow. So for the week I've been on the no skimmer gang. I may switch to dosing or add kalk at night to keep up with the swing. First I'm going to pick up an AI fuge light and put algae where the skimmer is. My best tank for sps was just live rock and a refugium. I have a bunch of marine balls in the second sock section in sump and all around the return pump. In the first sock section in going to throw some different sponge in and trim as needed.

wow, amazing corals!!!!!! :):p out of all of them, which would you say is the most inexpensive, yet has the most satisfying polyp extension?

Thank you!!

My Favorite, is a hard one that I can't answer. My favorite for the lowest price. That's easy. Pinky Winky. It was givin to me as a bank coral from an old buddy. It was a wild piece he acquired during the last indo run. As far as polyps, I can get em going again. Coming back in quick mode.

Pic from yesterday.

What is a name on the last pic

Had to think back to when tanks grew. Back before skimmers were a big hype. Have to say as much as I like hi tech in this hobby. I dont know that I'd do a skimmer again. Don't really do water changes either. I dump lots of food in at lights out. Test alkalinity in the morning and adjust. Calcium has been high so I test every few days. Oh yeah pulled my calcium reactor off to. Just pumps heater and lights (refugium and main tank) 7-8 big boxs of marine pure bio balls in filter sock area and around pump. Sump is nice and dirty. I recirculate the water from return back to refugium, so the water kinda stops there.

Working out very well for me so far. Ultimately I'm a simple guy, my tank should be to.

Oh yeah, and since all my changes all ranges from 8.4-8.7

What’s the chalice in the last pic? Looks similar to my CK confetti chalice
A wild piece I payed a pretty penny for a few years ago as a little frag. I cut it in half and traded to reefraft. Not sure what he named it. Could very well be the same. I sold all my other chalices. This ones special to me
