Just 2 bulkheads. For the actual portion having the overflowing happen I just used your standard egg crate...

How is the front panel attached?

Its nailed up... When i did this stand I made it so it was 1 yr old proof. Mainly the height of the stand and the access to the sump.. The front is nailed up, and the sides are kinda like doors with cabinet magnets on them.. At first I was going with a sliding door and then moved to the magnet idea.. I'm pretty sure once my daughter sees me do it, it will no longer be 1 yr old proof..
